WOOD DESTROYING INSECT CONTROL SERVICES
Because termites live in colonies underground, it is almost impossible to find them. You can, however, protect your home.
A termite treatment involves placing
a chemical barrier around a home's foundation in order to prevent termites
from eating your home's wood. In areas of heavy activity or damage,
we also treat the cinder block, and/or power
spray the infested wood.
Carpenter Ants do not eat wood, however
they excavate it for shelter
and nesting purposes.
The home's perimeter is treated with
a residual chemical and treated granules, which will be eaten by the
ants. Also, a bait is used in the house near points of entry, such as
plumbing fixtures under sinks. Last, a crack and crevice treatment is
applied to the infested areas.
Older homes which use old logs as support beams may
have Powder Post Beetle damage. These small beetles were already present
when the tree was cut, and became active when the wood dried. Treatment for PPB involves soaking the infested wood
with a wood destroying insect insecticide.
